Utilising part of the Arthur Lydiard course, this is a challenging 10 mile race. 10 mile races are fairly rare in New Zealand and this one incorporates some very steep hills through the Waitakere Ranges. Also unusually, this is an afternoon race. The last couple of miles are all downhill which is very welcome after the climb along Carter Road and Scenic Drive.
